In the article, West Texas Shooting Spree, the author unjustifiably used a quote from President Trump, wrongly thinking that this quote is justified to have in a tear jerking article about a mass shooting. The author decided to put a quote from President Donald Trump, stating, “this hasn’t changed anything … we’re looking at a lot of different bills.” The author made this mistake, thinking that readers from this tragedy wanted to hear that their loved ones would not be getting the justice they deserve. When my grandmother passed away, the thing that hurt me the most was knowing that she wouldn’t get the justice she deserved from being in that tractor trailer accident. Readers want a happy ending, even when there is none. It helps the readers to be at ease after reading something that takes such an emotional toll. Hopefully in the future, we won’t have to live a life where everything is emotionally draining.
