The Emerging Repercussions of Vaping

After the growing popularity of vape products in the past several years, particularly in young Americans, the repercussions of using such products have made themselves known. In the summer of 2019, there have been 215 mysterious medical incidents all involving the use of vape products. What first appears to be some sort of bacterial or viral affliction is soon revealed to be nothing of the sort. Doctors are still unsure what specifically is causing these disturbing cases, but there is one link between the cases, the use of vape products.

People across America have taken to the use of vape products with little to no knowledge of what they are putting into their bodies. Many vape products do not display a list of ingredients which leads the naive users to ingest a substance that is foreign to them. The most harrowing detail of these mysterious illnesses is the lack of knowledge presented on the ingredients to such products by professionals. Dr. Nora Volkow of the National Institute on Drug Abuse says, “No one is actually evaluating the products to see whether they are pure, or if they contain toxic substances.” It is paramount that these products be inspected before being distributed for use.

It is vital that organizations such as the Federal Drug Association make haste and thoroughly investigate vape products to determine the cause of these illnesses. With so many young people involved in the partaking of vape products it is vital that this issue is dealt with posthaste.
